Oral Cancer Screening *IDENTAFI*

Oral cancer lesions are on the rise due to new strains of the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and Herpes virus appearing in the general population of our community.  What was once considered a necessary screening procedure only for those over the age of twenty one, has now become necessary for patients starting as early as age twelve.

Because of this Dr. Joo and staff, are implementing a new Oral Cancer Screening procedure.  Our goal is to identify and eradicate any and all cancerous lesions present on our patients at the earliest stage possible, thereby increasing the odds of a full and complete recovery with minimal tissue loss.

In order to accomplish this, we are using a new screening tool called IDENTAFI.  It uses certain frequencies of flourescence of an LED light to make suspicious tissue appear dark in the mouth of the patient.  IDENTAFI is the most accurate screening for oral cancers available today, able to detect suspicious tissues well before we could view things clinically.

Here at our office, Dr. Joo recommends his patients to recieve this screening at least once a year for all patients twelve and older.
