I had 2 small cavities fixed in front teeth. I chose not to have Novacaine because I am chicken. After being reassured that I could change my mind at any time, Dr. Joo got started. I was over before Iknew it, completely painless. And I can't even tell where the fillings are - they blend in flawlessly.

My husband, my children and I all go to Dr. Joo. The kids are not the least bit scared, because of the wonderful staff at this office. I was very impressed at my new pt visit on January 8, 2013. The staff are friendly and made me feel comfortable. I transferred from a dental office in Harrisburg for several reasons: (1) Dr. Joo's is closer for me (2) Dr. Joo's office offers the removal of my mercury(amalgam) fillings that I've had since the late 1970's, and (3) they understand my choice of not wanting flouride for myself or my children due to various studies I've researched (i.e. Dr. Mercola, Natural Health, etc). Dr. Joo uses some of the latest technology in dentistry;he has an instrument that beeps and lets him know which teeth have cavity spaces in them quite accurately (very cool stuff). He and his staff explained the details of my dental status so that it was easy for me to understand plus they welcomed any questions that I had. Even the cleaning of my teeth was a more modern technology than my former dentist. Dr. Joo made a plan especially for me regarding work that I need to have done and upon check-out (as well as a couple phone calls that I made) insurance and pt out-of-pocket cost was discussed with me so that I knew exactly what I would have to pay on my own. I felt very cared about; like I was at a high-end spa or something.

I was disappointed to learn upon my arrival that my hygienist was on vacation and I was not informed ahead of time or given the option to reschedule my appointment. I feel like I was cheated as the cleaning method was not what I expected. This cleaning took 15 minutes max, but the fee was the same as previous visits. The method of cleaning is one of the key reasons I chose this practice and drive 30 miles one way to get there. I got 5 reminders between text, email and phone calls but not once did they say I would not receive the same service. A heads up would've been appreciated.

I want to take a moment to appologize for any inconvenience. Our office has one Hygienist, Marla. It is not often that a member of our team is absent. Marla worked very hard to find a replacement with the same skills, but unfortunately did not find someone that cleans the same. We believe the hygienist we hired to fill in was capable, but different. Your happiness is utmost in this office and we are willing to do another cleaning with Marla free of charge, to compensate for your unhappiness. As always thank you for your feedback.

Opting to replace my amalgam with composite fillings, was both a cosmetic decision, and recommendation of Dr. Joo. This was my second filling procedure, at Captivating Smiles.

Dr. Joo and the staff at CS, continue to provide excellent attention to my comfort during procedures and gentle dental care, inquiring on any questions or concerns I may have since my last visit, and providing insurance/co-pay information for future procedures.

Most importantly, I experienced zero pain during and after, and am 100% happy with Dr. Joo's recommendations and results. Yay!

Dr. Joo has skilled hands, and was very gentle with my quick facial filling procedure. Upon completion, he himself walked me out to finish payment and scheduling for my next visit, which I found extremely professional and an added personal touch to his practice as a whole.

Kaleen, Office Manager, took the time to inform me with detailed information on what to expect my next visit, including anticipated insurance co-pay and deductibles, which helped me as a customer from a financial aspect, and again, added to my my overall five-star rating of the staff and Dr. Joo at Captivating Smiles!

From x-rays, to probing, and discussion of findings at the time, Dr. Joo, Angie, Barb, Marla and Kaleen, were informative, helpful, friendly, and all took the time to say hello.

I came to Captivating Smiles b/c the dentist I was seeing didn't preform it. Dr. Joo and his entire staff were/are so informative and when it came time for the procedure, I did not mind the "dreaded" root canal. Completely painless. I have to admit, I don't have very good teeth and I know that. Most of the time, I get to the dentist and have to worry about the talking down to I am about to receive due to my bad teeth. Not so here. Instead, I am asked why they are bad, what things have I tried, do I have questions, and then provided with options and other tips. Dr. Joo also made sure to explain what he was doing before he started and continued to check in with me during the procedure. Definitely the most comfortable I have been while having my teeth worked on. Thank you!

The hygienist was so patient - took the time to answer my questions thoroughly - and I usually have several questions. She is never rushed and takes the time to do a thorough job. Explained bleaching to me. Also recommended a toothpaste that would decrease sensitivity and strengthen my enamel. I trust her very much.
